It Appears Blue Genes has a Recessive Genotype!
After a string of thefts last year followed by a bankruptcy filing, Blue Genes seemed destined for closure, but they emerged leaner and meaner with a more diverse product offering and a smaller space. Now, having been robbed for the 7th time, this time of over $100K, the store seems destined to close. A moving truck was seen outside the store Monday afternoon and shopbluegenes.com is down for "maintenance" until July. Calls to the store go straight to voice mail while neighboring boutiques say they have temporarily closed. Repeat Atlanta will be on top of this developing story and post updates as they become available. Repeat Atlanta!

"It Appears Blue Genes has a Recessive Genotype!" Tacky headline.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, who cares?
Anon, that is an interesting comment. What, precisely, is so "tacky" about the headline?
ReplyDeleteIf somebody broke into my store 7 times and stole 100K worth of goods, I would camp out there every night until they came back and be waiting to BLOW THEIR HEAD OFF!
ReplyDeleteI cant imagine who would want to open a boutique in this city. I hate to be a hater but there is just way too much of a thug element in Atlanta. You hear of theft in any large city but no where near the amount here. Anyone opening a new store here needs to invest in some pretty good security equipment or they might as well go ahead and declare themselves bankrupt!
ReplyDeleteIt's not the "thug element" that's the problem. These criminals seem to have the perception that they can get away with this stuff in the city and apparently they're right. We desperately need a competent mayor and police chief to move this city forward.
